Wall surface preparation is the foundation of wall‑covering installation. Just like a building needs a solid base, poor wall substrate will cause bubbles, peeling and early failure of your wallpaper or wall‑fabric.
Before installation, confirm your wall meets these 5 requirements:
- Flat: Check flatness with a 2‑meter straight edge.
- Dry: Test moisture content with a moisture meter. High moisture leads to mold and blistering.
- Firm: Do a fingernail scratch test. The wall must be hard, not powdery or soft.
- Clean: Uniform color, free of stains and discoloration. Dirt weakens adhesive performance.
- Neutral pH: Avoid alkali bleeding which can stain and damage wall coverings.
Proper wall preparation ensures clean installation results and extends product service life.
